The Afro Latin Jazz Alliance (ALJA) performs, educates about, and preserves the music of all the Americas, emanating from African and indigenous roots, through the entry point of jazz. ALJA embraces its mission with a commitment to social justice, equity, inclusion, and the equality of all cultures worldwide.

The Afro Latin Jazz Alliance Emergency Artist Fund provides assistance to musicians facing the unexpected hardship of lost income from canceled shows and/or classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Fund will prioritize artists in New York and New Jersey from the Afro Latin and Latin Jazz musical community.

Individual grants are up to $200. Eligible recipients can receive one grant in a 30 day period. While ALJA understands current needs are great, please note that fundraising for ALJA Emergency Artist Fund is ongoing. 100% of the money raised for this fund will be used for these grants and our community resource efforts. The more money raised, the more we will be able to provide, so please share this campaign throughout your personal networks.

Funds will be released on a rolling basis throughout the outbreak and recovery phases of the crisis. This will allow for resources to be distributed quickly as they are collected and adapt to the evolving needs of the crisis. Applications will be reviewed on a first come first serve basis.
